Amelia was hungry & upset about it when we got to go in this morning.  She started out well breastfeeding, but then got even more upset because sucking that way is not as easy as with the bottle when she immediately gets full.  We’ll have challenges to face when we go home in this area, but are praying for quick adaptation.  Amelia received two RBC transfusions & her coloring was much better today (she had been pretty pale due to the anemia).  Please pray that her hemoglobin levels get up to where they should be & don’t drop again.  While they’re running tests to make sure there’s not something else that is causing the anemia, we’re trusting that it was also just part of the sepsis (blood infection).  Urine & stool are negative for fungus, PTL!  Now we’re waiting on negative results for bacteria in the blood!  Lord willing this week we’ll get to go home!

Amelia tenía hambre y estaba molesta cuando entramos esta mañana.  Comenzó lactando bien, pero después se frustró aun más porque chupando así no es tan fácil como con el biburón donde se llena de una vez.  Tendremos ese desafío para enfretar cuando lleguemos a casa pero estamos orando por una adaptación rápida.  Amelia recibió dos transfusiones de glóbulos rojos y su color estaba mucho mejor hoy (había estado pálida debido a la anemia).  Oren que su hemoglobina sube al nivel que debe estar y que no baje de nuevo.  Aunque están haciendo pruebas para asegurar que no hay otra cosa causando la anemia, confiamos que fue por causa de la sepsis (infección de sangre).  Su orina y pupú ya no tienen hongo, ¡GAD!  Ahora estamos esperando que los resultados de los cultivos de sangre salen negativos de bacteria.  ¡Dios mediante podremos ir a casa!

Amelia’s hemoglobin levels were lower again today (lower than they were on Friday when they gave her the transfusion) and so they decided to transfuse again & start tests to find out what is causing the anemia.  We received a call from her neonatologist at about 3pm saying that the blood bank didn’t have any fresh blood so we needed to find a donor.  She said there was a willing platelet donor who’s blood was approved… the only problem is we did not recognize the name of the person, meaning it was someone from Santiago who showed up.  We tried to call a friend here in Santiago who had helped us find possible donors, no answer.  As we were driving to the hospital we crossed paths with that friend.  It turns out that the donor candidate is the friend of a friend of hers & that friend was at her house.  We went to her house & got the phone number of the donor candidate whose blood was already approved (this would save us the two hours of waiting to find out if other candidates were suitable donors).  A friend was already on his way from Jarabacoa & he did get tested in the time that we communicated with the already-approved donor from Santiago & he got to the hospital.  He came, donated & the blood was prepared to be transfused to Amelia.  The friend from Jarabacoa also proved to be a match, so we have a donor on stand-by (Lord willing we will not need him).

Please continue to insist with us in prayer.  We know God is Sovereign & All-Powerful, but this is a war, as I’ve said before, not against flesh & blood, but a spiritual battle.  We thank & praise the Lord because her pneumonia appears to be gone, Amelia’s doing fine without oxygen, there is no fungus in her urine (stool results weren’t back yet this morning when we spoke with the doctor), clinically she appears to be doing better in regards to the bacterial blood infection (still praying for the results to start returning negative), her platelets are no longer a concern as they continue to increase.  We pray that this blood would be exactly what Amelia needs to get her hemoglobin levels up to normal & that they would remain in the normal range.  We trust that even though they are doing many different tests to see what is causing the anemia, that there would be a simple explanation found & not another complication.  We hope & pray that we will be able to take our little girl home healthy before the end of this week!

After leaving the NICU this morning we got to spend a good time with Hector’s mom.  Please continue to pray for a miracle for this little boy!  God is close & at work!

Las hemoglobinas de Amelia estaban bajitas otra vez hoy (más bajitas de lo que estaban el viernes cuando le dieron la últimas transfusión) y así que decidieron transfundir de nuevo y comenzar pruebas para ver que está causando la anemia.  Recibimos una llamada de su neonatóloga a casi las 3pm diciendo que el banco de sangre no tenía sangre fresca así que necesitábamos encontrar un donante.  Ella dijo que había un candidato para donar plaquetas que ya se había aprobado… el único problema fue que no reconocimos su nombre, significando que fue alguien de Santiago que había ido.  Intentamos de llamar a una amiga aquí en Santiago que nos había ayudado encontrar posibles donantes, no contestó.  Al manejar hacía el hospital nos encontramos en el camino con ella.  Resulta que el candidato es el amigo de una amiga de ella y esa amiga estaba en su casa.  Fuimos a su casa y conseguimos en número del candidato (como su sangre ya se había aprobado nos iba a ahorrar dos horas de esperar a ver si otros candidatos fueran donantes compatibles).  Un amigo ya venía en camino de Jarabacoa y analizaron su sangre en lo que nos comunicamos con el muchacho de Santiago y él llegó al hospital.  Vino, don´t y la sangre se preparó para transfundir a Amelia.  El amigo de Jarabacoa también fue compatible, así que tenemos un donante en reserva (Dios mediante no lo vamos a necesitar).

Favor de seguir insistiendo en oración con nosostros.  Sabemos que Dios el Soberano y Todopoderoso, pero es una guerra, como he dicho antes, no contra sangre y hueso, sino una batalla espiritual.  Damos gracias y alabamos al Señor porque parece que se ha ido la nuemonía, Amelia va bien sin oxígeno, no hay hongo en su orina (los resultados del cultivo de su coprológico no estaban cuando hablamos con la doctora), clínicamente parece estar mejor en cuanto a la infección bacterial en su sangre (todavía oramos para que los resultados comienzan a mostrar negativo de bacteria), sus plaquetas ya no son de preocupación porque siguen en aumento.  Oramos que esta sangre sea exactamente lo que necesita Amelia para que su hemoglobina suba y se queda dentro del rango normal.  Confiamos que aunque están haciendo muchas pruebas para ver que es lo que está causando la anemia, que encontrarán una explicación sencilla y no otra complicación.  ¡Esperamos y oramos para que podamos llevar a nuestra pequeña chica sana a casa antes del término de esta semana!

Después de salir de Neo esta mañana pudimos pasar un buen rato con la mamá de Héctor.  Siguen orando por un milagro para este niño.  ¡Dios está cerca y obrando!

Before getting to go in to see beautiful Amelia Grace this morning we were greeted by good news from her pediatrician.  Amelia’s platelet count is up to 98,000!!!  Praise the Lord!!!  Her hemoglobin levels are still a little low (slight anemia) but since she’s not showing problems breathing or anything else they are adding a vitamin to her IV & that can be followed up with vitamins at home.  Tomorrow if her cultures come back negative for bacteria & fungus we will know when we get to take her home!  Obviously we are praying that that will be the case & we’ll get to go home sooner than later.

These last two weeks have been the hardest days of our lives, but also one of the best times in our lives.  Besides having the wonderful blessing of having our daughter, it has been a special time of being close to Abba Father, and we have been so blessed by family & so many brothers & sisters in Christ.  The other day I was reading in Romans & at one point Paul talks about sharing the comfort that we have received with others.  We have had the privilege to witness to many about Christ & the healing power of Jehovah Rapha, talking with hospital staff & even praying with parents of other sick kids.  

There is one boy in particular who I would like to ask for prayer for as well.  Hector is a 10 year old boy.  He’s a patient of our pediatrician as well & we’ve gotten to pray with & talk with his parents many times in the last week.  He has been in the pediatric ICU for over a month.  Hector is deaf & mute & during an implant surgery he started to seize & had a stroke.  It appears that he has suffered brain damage & his heart is not functioning as it should.  Our doctor even asked us to spend some time with his parents this morning because Hector’s prognostic is not good… he needs a miracle, the healing touch of Jehovah Rapha!  Today is Father’s Day in the DR & we didn’t get a chance to spend time with Hector’s parents as they had a lot of family with them today & our paths only crossed in the parking lot.  We know God can do a creative miracle & even give Hector a new brain &/or heart if need be.  Please pray for a miracle for Hector, that God may be glorified & that he & his parents may knowing the overwhelming love & power of Jesus Christ.  Please pray that the Spirit would fill our mouths with words of comfort, encouragement & Truth as in the middle of this crisis this couple is very sensitive & we believe this is the time that God wants to enter into their lives in a special way.  If for this very reason God has allowed everything that’s happened with Amelia to happen, we say “yes & amen.”

Antes de poder entrar para ver la bella Amelia Grace esta mañana nos encontramos con buenas noticias de su pediatra.  ¡Las plaquetas de Amelia han subido a 98,000!  ¡Gloria a Dios!  Su hemoglobina está todavía un poco bajita (un poco de anemia) pero no muestra ningun otro problema en respirar ni nada, así que agregaron una vitamina a su suero y se le puede dar seguimiento con vitaminas en casa.  ¡Mañana si sus cultivos salen negativos de bacteria y hongo sabremos cuando vamos a poder llevarla a casa!  Obviamente estamos orando que así sea y que vamos para casa pronto.

Estas dos semanas han sido los días más dificiles de nuestras vidas, pero a la vez uno de los mejores tiempos.  Además de tener la bendición de nuestra hija, ha sido un tiempo especial de acercamiento a Abba Padre y hemos sido tan bendecidos por nuestras familias y muchos hermanos en Cristo.  El otro día estaba leyendo en Romanos y en un momento Pablo habla de compartir el consuelo que hemos recibido con otros.  Hemos tenido el privilegio de testificarles a muchos acerca de Cristo y el poder sanador de Jehová Rafá, hablando con personal del hospital y aun orando con los padres de otros niños enfermos.

Hay un niño en particular por quien quisiera pedir oración.  Héctor es un niño de 10 años.  Es paciente de nuestra pediatra y hemos podido orar y hablar con sus padres varias veces en la última semana.  Ha estado en la UCI Pediátrica por más de un mes.  Héctor es sordo-mudo y durante una cirugía de implante comenzó a convulsionar y sufrió un derrame.  Aparenta que ha sufrido daño cerebral y su corazón no está funcionando debidamente.  Nuestra doctora aun nos pidió pasar tiempo con sus padres esta mañana porque el prognóstico no es bueno… él necesita un milagro, ¡el toque sanador de Jehová Rafá!  Hoy es el día de los padres en la RD y no pudimos pasar tiempo hoy con los padres de Héctor porque andaban con mucha familia y nuestros caminos se cruzaron solamente en el parqueo.  Sabemos que Dios puede hacer un milagro creativo y aun darle un nuevo cerebro y/o corazón a Héctor si se necesitara.  Favor de orar por un milagro para Héctor, que Dios sea glorificado y que él y sus padres puedan conocer el amor abrumador y poder de Jesucristo.  Favor de orar que el Espíritu llene nuestras bocas con palabras de consuelo, ánimo y Verdad en medio de esta crisis como esta pareja está muy sensible y creemos que este es el momento en que Dios quiere entrar a sus vidas de una manera especial.  Si es por esta razón que Dios haya permitido todo lo que ha pasado con Amelia, decimos “sí y amén.”

We’re so thankful for the improvement that Amelia has made in a week!  When we went in this morning, all 3 of Amelia’s doctors were with her.  We talked with the pediatrician & she said she’s doing well.  She’s completely off oxygen!  The fungus in her urine & stool (re-clarification, not blood as we were told yesterday) is being treated & should be disappearing by now (should know today’s lab results tomorrow).  The little bit of blood that she received last night was well received.  Clinically she looked to be doing well.  The pediatrician explained that the anemia wasn’t at dangerous levels, but the combination of her being a newborn, everything she’s been through in the last two weeks & the fact that the RBC are what takes the oxygen to the body (including the brain), she wanted to give her that little extra help.  She’s been on two antibiotics for the bacterial infection in her blood & they took her off of one of them today as she has completed a week on it.  The bacteria is still showing up in her blood & since it’s so nasty, the doctor wants to keep her on two antibiotics to make sure it doesn’t flare up again.  So, started a different antibiotic today to complement the other.  Just before knowing that the bacteria was still showing up in her blood, she had said that we’re at the point of waiting until she finishes the necessary days of antibiotic.

We’re more than ready to take our little girl home!  Pray that these long days spent at the hospital may come to an end as: Amelia’s blood work starts to come back with all her levels where they need to be (platelets over 100,000, no more anemia); there be no trace of bacteria in her blood; fungus in her urine & stool be completely gone.  We can see the light at the end of the tunnel & are ready to face all the challenges of being parents 24-7 with our daughter in our own home!  Thank you for praying with us!  May He be glorified in our daughter’s life & our family!

Estamos tan agradecidos por la mejoría que ha logrado Amelia en una semana.  Cuando entramos esta mañana, las 3 doctoras de Amelia estaban con ella.  Hablamos con la pediatra y nos dijo que Amelia va bien.  ¡Esta completamente sin oxígeno!  El hongo en su orina y pupú (re-clarificación, no en la sangre como nos dijeron ayer) está siendo tratado y debe estarse desapareciendo ya (sabremos los resultados del laboratorio de hoy, mañana).  La pequeña cantidad de sangre que recibió anoche le cayó bien.  Clinicamente parece estar mejorando.  La pediatra nos explicó que la anemia no estaba en niveles peligrosos, pero la combinación de ser recién nacida, todo lo que ha pasado en las últimas dos semanas y el hecho de que los glóbulos rojos son lo que llevan el oxígeno al cuerpo (incluyendo el cerebro), ella quería darle la ayudita.  Ha estado con dos antibióticos para la infección bacterial en su sangre y hoy completó una semana de uno y se lo quitaron.  La bacteria todavía aparece en su sangre y como es tan mala y agresiva, la doctora quiere mantenerla con dos antibióticos para asegurar que no coja fuerza de nuevo.  Así que, comenzó otro antibiótico hoy para complementar el que todavía tiene.  Justo antes de saber que todavía tiene la bacteria en su sangre, había dicho que estamos en el punto de esperar hasta que termine los días necesarios de antibiótico.

¡Estamos más que listos para llevar a nuestra chiquita a casa!  Oren que estos días largos pasados en el hospital pueden llegar a su término: que la sangre de Amelia esté con todos los niveles donde deben estar (plaquetas sobre 100,000 y adiós anemia); que no haya ni trazos de bacteria en su sangre; que se elimine completamente el hongo en su orina y pupú.  Podemos ver la luz al final del túnel y estamos listos para enfrentar los desafíos de ser padres 24-7 con nuestra hija en nuestra casa.  ¡Gracias por orar con nosotros!  ¡Que Él sea glorificado en la vida de nuestra hija y nuestra familia!

Amelia continues to be improving as far as her platelet count, WBC & pneumonia goes.  Her platelets were up to 58,000 this morning.  Praying that the number doubles for the next count & be well above 100,000!  She was again without oxygen while we were with her this morning & Elizabeth fed & held her & her oxygen numbers didn’t drop barely at all.

Were thankful that Amelia is getting the best “human” medical care possible in addition to Jehovah Rapha who is in charge of every detail of her body.  Besides her pediatrician & pediatric-hematologist, there’s now a neonatologist consulting on her case as well.  This morning we talked with her & found out that supposedly the fungus is in her blood.  I’m not sure if they simply discovered it through her urine & stool samples, if we misunderstood, or if the hematologist was confused in details when she spoke to us yesterday, but they started treating the fungus last night.  Due to the anemia they will give her a blood transfusion today.

We pray & trust that Abba Father has each of these details in His control as well as the details that the medical staff can’t see & we don’t know.  We pray for complete healing, no more complications & no secondary-effects of everything Amelia’s little body is going through.

Amelia sigue mejorando en cuanto a sus plaquetas, glóbulos blandos y neumonía.  Sus plaquetas habían subido a 58,000 esta mañana.  Oramos que el número se duplica para el próximo conteo y que esté muy por encima de 100,000.  Estaba otra vez sin oxígeno cuando estuvimos con ella esta mañana y Elizabeth la lactó y la cargó y sus números no bajaron casi nada.

Estamos agradecidos que Amelia está recibiendo el mejor cuidado médico “humano” en adición a Jehová Rafa quien está en control de cada detalle de su cuerpo.  Además de su pediatra y pediatra-hematóloga, ahora hay una neonatóloga consultando en su caso también.  Esta mañana hablamos con ella y nos enteramos que el hongo está en su sangre.  No estoy segura si simplemente lo descubrieron por medio de su orina y coprológico, si nosotros entendemos mal, o si la hematóloga se confundió en los detalles cuando habló con nosotros ayer, pero comenzaron a tratar al hongo anoche.  Debido a la anemia van a darle una transfusión de sangre hoy.

Oramos y confiamos que Abba Padre tiene cada uno de estos detalees en Su control además de los detalles que el personal médico no puede ver y no sabemos.  Oramos por una sanidad completa, ninguna otra complicación y ningun segundo efecto de todo lo que está pasando su cuerpecito.

While waiting in the hallway to the NICU Amelia’s nurse from today walked by & told me that she had waited to feed her until I came!  Breastfeeding success this morning.  Wish I could’ve spent all day holding her!  We had a great time with Amelia, singing, praying, eating, burping & just enjoying all of her facial expressions.  This afternoon was even better!  When we walked in, I (Elizabeth) heard her muffled cries from across the room & when I went & openned the incubator door (the incubator is simply controling the temperature around her) & started to talk to her & touch her back, she immediately stopped crying.  She had worked herself into a fever in the warm incubator with a blanket underneath her & on top of her and crying so much.  The nurse said she was again waiting for me to feed her.  We used baby wipes to cool her down & as she ate the slight fever she had worked herself into disappeared.  After the first week of her life almost not even hearing her cry, it’s so good to know she has the strength to get so upset!  This afternoon she ate & burped more vigorously than ever & was very awake almost the entire hour and a half that we were with her.  Amelia Grace has stolen her parents’ hearts!

The pediatrician-hematologist checked on her while we were with her & told us that they discovered a fungus in her urine & stool and she’s currently slightly anemic as a side-effect of everything else that is going on in her little body.  I love the couple places in the Psalms where it says that God laughs at His enemies.  When the hematologist told us those things I didn’t even feel concerned & thinking of it now just have a desire to laugh in the face of the enemy.  The God we have believed in, who hears & answers our prayers is much greater than any fungus, bacteria, infection, anemia, low-platelet count or plan of the enemy.  If He is with us, who can be against us?  If you are praying for our little Amelia Grace & all that her body is fighting against, please join us in praying specifically for each of these points.  May God’s emminent victory be now & May He receive the glory!

Mientras esperamos en el pasillo fuera de Neo, la enfermera de Amelia hoy pasó y me dijo que había esperado alimentarla para que la pegara yo.  ¡Éxito en lactarla esta mañana!  Quisiera haber pasado el día entero con ella en mis brazos.  Tuvimos un tiempo excelente con Amelia, cantando, orando, comiendo, sacando gases y disfrutando sus expresiones faciales.  ¡La tarde fue aun mejor!  Cuando entramos, yo (Elizabeth) la escuché llorando del otro lado de la sala y cuando fui y abrí la puerta de la incubadora (la incubadora está simplemente controlando la temperatura ambiental para ella) y comencé a hablarle y tocar su espalda, paró de llorar de inmediato.  Se había frustrado tanto a darse fiebre dentro de la incubadora caliente con una frisa abajo y otra encima de ella al llorar tanto.  La enfermera dijo que otra vez me estaba esperando para alimentarla.  Usamos wipes para refrescarla y al lactar la fiebre leve se desapareció.  Después de casi no oírla llorar en su primera semana de vida, es bueno saber que tiene la fuerza para enojarse tanto.  Esta tarde comió y eructó con más vigor que nunca y estaba despierta casi la hora y media entera que estábamos con ella.  ¡Amelia Grace les ha robado el corazón de sus padres!

La pediatra-hematóloga la chequeó cuando estuvimos con ella y nos dijo que habían descubierto un hongo en su orina y pupú y que actualmente tiene un poco de anemia debido a todo lo demás que está pasando en su cuerpecito.  Me encantan los pasajes en los Salmos donde dice que Dios se ríe de sus enemigos.  Cuando la hematóloga nos dijo estas noticias, ni me sentía preocupada y ahora pensándolo me da ganas de reirme en la cara del enemigo.  El Dios en quien hemos creido, quien escucha y responde a nuestras oraciones, es más fuerte que cualquier hongo, bacteria, infección, anemia, conteo bajito de plaquetas o plan del enemigo.  Si Él está con nosotros, ¿quién contra nosotros?  Si estás orando por nuestra pequeña Amelia Grace y todo lo que está peleando su cuerpo, favor de unirte a nosotros en orar específicamente por cada uno de estos puntos.  ¡Que Su victoria eminente sea ahora y que Él reciba la gloria!

“And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up… pray for one another, that you may be healed.  The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.”  (James 5:15a, 16b)

Thank you all for your prayers!  We are witnesses to His great healing power at work in the body of our daughter.  This morning the doctor informed us they had identified the bacteria.  The name was very long & we don’t remember it, but it is a hospital bacteria, meaning that Amelia was infected in the NICU.  Not something that makes us happy, but we know it happens here, in the States, wherever & are thankful that it was caught in time.  It is a very aggressive bacteria & there are only 3 antibiotics effective against it & only 2 they can give her because of her age, but thankfully when they changed her antibiotic on Friday when she got very sick the doctor put her on one of those 2 antibiotics effective against this bacteria.  We are praying that the bacteria doesn’t become resistent to this antibiotic & that it continues to leave her blood & body completely!  They changed where she was, sheets, equipment, everything in the NICU to make sure she is in a clean environment.  She had blood work done again today & PTL, her WBC is up to 5,000 & her platelets up to 34,000!  We need her platelets to continue to go up, but are thankful for the improvement she’s made in just two days.  We’re praying for her platelet count to continue to climb to over 100,000 at least!

“Una oración ofrecida con fe, sanará al enfermo, y el Señor hará que se recupere… oren los unos por los otros, para que sean sanados.  La oración ferviente de una persona justa tiene mucho poder y da resultados maravillosos.”  (Santiago 5:15a, 16b)

¡Gracias a todos por sus oraciones! Somos testigos a Su gran poder sanador obrando en el cuerpo de nuestra hija.  Esta mañana la doctora nos informó que habían identificado la bacteria.  El nombre es largo y no lo recordamos, pero es una bacteria del hospital, significando que Amelia se infectó en Neo.  Nos es algo que nos alegra, pero sabemos que pasa aquí, en los estados, dondequiera y estamos agradecidos que se encontró a tiempo.  Es una bacteria muy agresiva y solo hay 3 antibióticos efectivas en contra de ella y solo dos que le pueden dar debido a su edad, pero gracias a Dios que cuando cambiaron su antibiótico el viernes cuando se puso muy mal, la doctora comenzó uno de esos dos antibióticos que sí es efectivo.  Estamos orando que la bacteria no se vuelve resistente al antibiótico y que sigue yéndose completamente de su sangre y cuerpo.  Cambiaron todo, la cuna, el cuarto, sabanas, equipos, todo en Neo para asegurar que está en un ambiente limpio.  Le hicieron analisis hoy de nuevo y GAD, sus globulos blancos han subido a 5,000 y sus plaquetas a 34,000!  Necesitamos que sus plaquetas siguen subiendo, pero estamos agradecidos por la mejoría que se ha visto en solo dos días.  Estamos orando para que sus plaquetas suben a más de 100,000.

This morning’s good news is that there was no bad news.  There were no new lab results or anything because they don’t want to prick Amelia more than necessary.  Talking with the doctor today we now understand that getting her platelet count up to 20,000 would only get her out of critical condition.  A normal infant has around 150,000 platelets (6,000, which was her low, now seems even more scary than it did at the time).  They won’t count again until tomorrow & we’re praying for a miracle, that God surprise the doctors & nurses with her numbers being above 100,000!  They’ve been growing cultures to find out the exact type of bacteria that caused the infection.  There are two general types of bacteria, positive & negative.  Today they confirmed that Amelia has a negative type of bacteria in her blood, this type is the more aggressive type, explaining her rapid deterioration.  Bacterial infection in a newborn is not good, but it is good to be a step closer to knowing what specifically we are dealing with.  Tomorrow they should have the exact type of bacteria identified & then we will know which exact antibiotics are most effective in fighting it.  We are so thankful for our little girl’s life & know that it is Abba Father who has brought us this far!  We continue to cry out for His miraculous healing power to be 100% manifested in Amelia Grace’s little body.

This afternoon we went in & the nurse had waited for us for her feeding.  Elizabeth put her to the breast & after a couple tries Amelia successfully latched on.  You’ll see in the pictures some of her facial expressions that we enjoyed today.  She also was without oxygen for over 40 minutes or so as she ate & burped.  We know Jehovah Rapha is at work!

La buena noticia de esta mañana es que no había malas noticias.  No hay resultados nuevos de laboratorio porque no la quieren punchar mas de lo necesario.  Hablando con la doctora hoy entendemos mejor que subir sus plaquetas a 20,000 solamente la sacaría de condición crítica.  Un bebé normal tiene alrededor de 150,000 plaquetas (su baja estando en 6,000 ahora parece más aterrador de lo que entendíamos en el momento).  No contarán de nuevo hasta mañana y estamos orando por un milagro, que Dios sorprenda a los doctores y enfermeras con su conteo por encima de 100,000.  Han estado haciendo cultivos para encontrar la bacteria exacta que está causando la infección.  Hay dos tipos generales de bacteria, positiva y negativa.  Hoy confirmaron que Amelia tiene una bacteria negativa en su sangre, el tipo mas agresivo, explicando su deterioro tan rápico.  Infección bacterial en un recién nacido no es bueno, pero sí es bueno estar un paso mas cerca de saber con qué estamos luchando exactamente.  Mañana deben tener identificado la bacteria exacta y sabrán cuales antibióticos son mas efectivos en combatirla.  Estamos tan agradecidos de Dios por la vida de nuestra hija y sabemos que es Abba Padre que nos ha traído hasta aquí.  Seguimos clamando por su poder sanador milagrosa a ser 100% manifestado en el cuerpecito de Amelia Grace.

Esta tarde entramos y la enfermera nos había esperado para alimentarla.  Elizabeth la puso al seno y después de par de intentos lactó bien.  Verán en las fotos algunas de sus expresiones faciales que disfrutamos hoy.  También estaba sin oxígeno por más de 40 minutos al alimentarse y sacarle los gases.  ¡Sabemos que Jehová Rafa está obrando!
